Project Details

Location: Southeast / Pearl-Meigs-Monroe Corridor

Grades: 7-8  9-12

Budget: $26 Million

Architect: CJS Architects

Construction Manager: The Pike Company

Completed: 2017

Built in 1921, Monroe is a neo-classical style building that had its initial RSMP design and construction during Phase 1 to address obsolete infrastructure and begin the process to bring its spaces up to SED minimum usable areas standards and overall energy efficiencies. For continuity, the retained firm of CJS Architects created design that re-imagined the corridors, lockers, floors, walls and ceiling finishes. Critical mechanical, electrical and plumbing system replacements facilitated the conversion of steam heating to more efficient hot water, along with the addition of modern air conditioning.
